CONSERVATION DETECTION
:: BRAND NEW FOR 2026 ::

We all know dogs have incredible noses — and around here, Hannah is a little (okay, a lot) obsessed with what those noses can do for the world. That curiosity led us straight into the exciting field of Conservation Detection.

So what is Conservation Detection? It’s the powerful partnership between highly trained dogs and skilled handlers, using scent-based science to protect wildlife, ecosystems, and the places we love.
This journey started in an unexpected way — with a quirky birthday gift of Spotted Lanternfly eggs. What began as playful, casual training with the Wildlings quickly sparked something bigger. After connecting with researchers at Michigan State University, that outreach has grown into meaningful conversations, real momentum, and ongoing collaboration.

Today, our whole pack — all four dogs and Hannah (did you hear about Mollee?) — are actively training, learning, and dreaming up new ways to put their noses to work for conservation in Michigan. At the same time, we’re quietly opening the door for other curious dog-and-human teams who want to explore this fascinating world with us.
