About
A little bit of history: this girl does hardly anything without a dog...and, therefore, goes to great lengths to make sure the Wildlings are comfortable with all the pieces of the puzzle that make leaving the house (or just hanging out!) a pleasurable experience for all involved. And there are several not insignificant pieces that make up a dog that has both the ability to be engaging *and* chill in multiple situations. Longsnouts is a fan of creating dogs that can act independently, with agency, versus needing to be 'stage managed' or told what to do for a liftetime. (or the more dots we're giving the 'connect the dots' picture and the more clear the image will become) I also recommend writing out a 'family glossary' of all the cues used - sit, down, off, etc. - so everyone in your dog's life is on the same page and using the same cues for the same behaviors! As time goes by, we'll be folding in the 4 Ds of Dog Training: distance, duration, distraction, and difficulty. And now? Let's play....
